Biography
Paul Kavicky has a 30-year career in sound design, production mixing, and audio production teaching. Recent sound design work has included the shows Pajama Game, Noises Off, Bring It On, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and many others. Paul has been a production sound professional on national tours including Wicked, Peter Pan, and Showboat. His primary workplace for the past decade has been with CAPA, where he has the role of audio and video production head at the Ohio, Palace, and Southern Theatres in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Before joining CAPA, Paul was the house sound person at the Capitol Theatre and later Veterans Memorial, and has worked for production companies including Live Technologies and Pro Backline. As a 20-year IATSE journeyman, Paul has experience in large-scale productions including theatrical tours, concerts, and corporate events. Over the years he has worked on shows with David Bowie, BB King, and countless stars from stage and screen, as well as mixed for legends like Kris Kristofferson and Doc Severinsen. Paul also operates Paper Street Audio Company where he does recording, editing, and mixing for a variety of clients. Paper Street Audio Company sprung from Pauls love of synthesizers and midi and still has a powerful collection of vintage and modern synthesizers.
